I'm afraid I can't see how this would be a misinterpretation.
The long bars for children encode exactly what they're supposed to: the fact that a high percentage of children in 1st and 2nd class survived. They *should* be long. And they should be interpreted that way.

That some people could potentially misread the graph in terms of which chart represents counts and which represents %, despite the titles and labels, is not solved by the dots, I don't think.

I do like the addition of the grey marker for the overall percentages in each category.
